Mothers

If hearts could be gold

The treasure to be found

Within a mother’s love

Would vast coffers make quite sound

Her words speak hope and confidence

They lift and build and grow

Each one so blessed to be called her child

Does such inspiring words surely know

Her prayers do rally heaven

When in fear her children flee

The Lord dispatches legions

Each time she raises need

Her songs bring peace to troubled hearts

The melody she raises, so sweet

Each tune, each strain, each heartfelt note

With no worldly verse competes

Her devotion is divine

Her affections are sure true

Consistency her haulmark

All things she appears to do

With nothing less than teary eyes

I thank those mothers kind

Who, like angels, have shared their hearts with me

And in whom I can God’s love find

Do We Forgive Our Fathers?

Do we forgive our fathers?
Or do we take upon ourselves their blame?
Do we recognize them as our makers?
Or do we hide our faces when they’ve chosen poorly?

When the wind whispers acts of anger
Do we willingly enrage?
Or do we acknowledge the wind
And choose instead our hearts to believe?

Do we forgive our fathers
When the bitterness of their past bites and pains us so?
Or do we give them our loyalty
And let pass their short comings?

For they too are like us
With times that are best unseen
And they too are like us
Worthy of our love

So do we forgive our fathers
And in so doing forgive ourselves?
Do we drop the bottles
That keep inside our hurt?

Do we go forward and live
And in doing show we forgave?
And do we forgive our fathers
And in so doing set ourselves free?

The Mirror

I am made up of so many people
My experiences are such
That when I look into the mirror
There’s no face I cannot touch

I see the people wondering
What I have become
There has to be an answer there
But searching, I find none

So Easy to Forget

Today I was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to get a buzz out of the audio of a video I was making to show a group of friends how to help our company achieve one of my outrageous goals. In turn we’re letting them take part in the passive income it will generate.

Well, in a moment of frustration and ADD I was surfing around my cluttered Facebook account. When you check your account 20 times a day it’s exciting to see the little red notification light at the bottom…I pounced. And for once, what I saw wasn’t clutter. It was a link from a friend to a little video, the one you’ll see below and it changed my frame of mind. Whereas I was just barely experiencing frustration, I felt hope. Whereas I felt anger, I felt love. Whereas I had lost focus, I once again regained it.

Along this road of life I’ve learned that action helps to solidify belief. So, I’m going to take our first $3,300 from our Sprouts project and donate it to Charity: Water, where 100% of the donations will be used to build clear water wells in Ethiopia. Please join me in some way to bring an ease that we so often take for granted to some of our brothers and sisters the world over!

Testimony

Testimony is a declaration of the things you have come to know through he who testifies of all truth, the Holy Ghost.

Doctrines studied and practiced with the hope that they are indeed God’s word allows us the gift of the Spirit, who testifies to us, strengthening our testimony. This process is known as faith: Hope that some thing’s real, act upon what you know, receive a witness that the thing you hoped for is true.

I know this to be true. By simply following the doctrine, we’ll know it through the spiritual, deep rooted proof that only the Holy Ghost can provide.
